I had a chance to relax and get out early and went to downtown Austin – the corner of Riverside and 1st to be exact. Where you would think folks would be sleeping. Not in Austin.

Folks are out running and biking and excercising their dogs – it’s amazing. The photo ops are unbelievable in this beautiful city that I call home.

The photo’s I really want to share are of a Herron that spied a good fishing spot in the river. He was GORGEOUS.

He was hopping around and acting crazy so I just started shooting. I was a lucky man for the photographs I captured.

And the wonderful bird caught his breakfast with ease.

I continued around the park – I had an awesome time with a good friend taking all the photos I could.
In the “Leash Free Zone” a favorite past time is playing fetch with your dog. There were lots of dogs, all playing and running and jumping in to the river to retrieve tennis balls thrown by their masters.

It has been one hot summer with temps over 100 but people still get out and bike and jog. There are tables set up under the bridge with ice water (which kept me going to tell the truth)

I just don’t know how these people hustled in the heat! – But I still love central Texas. Heat and all. The people are worth it.

So there you have it. Beautiful scenery, Beautiful people, Beautiful Music (BTW I really like Stevie Ray Vaughn):
It’s also a perfect place for portraits. So if you’re in Austin go down to 1st and Riverside and watch the dogs fetch, the people canoe, bike and run and take some awesome photos of a beautiful place

Peace, Love, and City Life,
